Study abroad for high school
We celebrate the diversity of our community by extending a welcoming hand to international students. International and foreign exchange students have arrived at St. Pius X High School from over 20 different countries in the last 10 years.
These students bring their unique talents to our community. Their contributions as top honor roll students, accomplished musicians and artists, and star athletes make our school a richer place.

International Student Checklist
Transcript (if applying for 10th or 11th grade) forwarded to St. Pius X High School (MUST BE OFFICIAL AND VERFIED BY CURRENT SCHOOL):
- Classes/credits translated into English
- Number of hours each class meets per week and number of weeks per year (120 class hours equal one American credit)
- Course description of each class.
Application filled out – apply and pay $50 fee on-line – firstname.lastname@example.org
This must include the complete foreign address and name/address/contact information of Guardian in the U.S. with whom the student will be living.
Principal/English Teacher/Math Teacher Recommendation forms forwarded to St. Pius X High School (found on Admissions web page).
Placement Test administered for 9th and 10th grades in native country by English speaking teacher – teacher must contact Ms. Kathryn Griep by email at email@example.com to make arrangements for testing.
Bank Statement/Affidavit of Support (I-134) of person responsible for tuition and fees demonstrating at least $17,000 American dollars (required for I-20).
St. Pius X High School issues Acceptance Letter and I-20 – $300 (may be picked up by guardian at the school; there will be a $70 charge if St. Pius X sends the documents by FedEx.).
Student applies for SEVIS I-901 through U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement website http://wwwice.gov/sevis; may be paid on-line at www.fmjfee.com. This document is required before going to the U.S. Consulate for interview.
Student makes appointment with U.S. Consulate in home country for interview and to apply for F-1 Visa.
Student Health Insurance: St. Pius X requires that international students have health insurance – must provide SPX proof of insurance.
Guardian for the international student in Houston must provide legal documentation for Guardianship.
