Best Buddies Volunteer at Major Fundraiser

St. Pius X High School students in a club called Best Buddies attended the Angel Falls Luncheon on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. This luncheon was a major fundraiser for Autism Rescue Angels.

They were at luncheon to volunteer with the setup, greet the guests who arrived and guide them to the check-in area.

Autism Rescue Angels hosted their annual fall luncheon at the Houston Racquet Club. The purpose of this luncheon was to share how they help to provide financial assistance and support to local Houston area families who have a loved one with autism. The Founder and President of the Autism Rescue Angels, Lisa Graham-Garza, is the mother of freshman Ryan Garza who is also a member of the Best Buddies club at St. Pius X High School.

The SPX students who attended were senior Sarah McMillan, who is the president of the club, junior Alyssa Cinadr, senior Walker Davis, junior Aubrey Murdock, sophomore Nina Martinez and freshman Ryan Garza.

The primary mission of Best Buddies is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Best Buddies is the world's largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with IDD.
