Program Overview
Preparing for the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is an important step in the high school admissions journey. St. Pius X High School's ISEE Preparation Course is designed to help 7th and 8th grade students develop the academic skills, testing strategies and confidence needed to perform at their best.
Led by Dr. Patrick Triplett, Assistant Principal of Student Support, this comprehensive four-session course goes beyond reviewing test content. Students will learn practical strategies for approaching standardized tests while strengthening reading, vocabulary and math skills that support long-term academic success.
Whether your student is looking to gain confidence, improve test-taking strategies or maximize their performance, this course provides personalized instruction in a supportive learning environment.
The ISEE Preparation Course includes four Saturday sessions that combine direct instruction, guided practice and proven learning strategies.
Meet Dr. Patrick Triplett - Course Instructor
Dr. Patrick Triplett has dedicated more than 22 years to Catholic education, helping students build the academic skills and confidence needed to thrive in high school and beyond.
As Assistant Principal of Student Support at St. Pius X High School, he leads the school's academic support program and teaches courses focused on learning strategies, study skills and student success. His experience includes preparing students for high school admissions, standardized testing and the transition to more rigorous academic environments.
Dr. Triplett holds a Ph.D. in Special Education and is a nationally recognized presenter on topics including effective feedback, student motivation and strategies that improve learning, retention and recall. His approach emphasizes helping students understand how they learn best, equipping them with practical strategies that allow them to demonstrate their knowledge with confidence.
Students leave this course with more than test preparation, they gain study techniques, problem-solving strategies and learning skills that will benefit them throughout high school.
