College Counseling

St. Pius X High School is committed to helping students find the post-secondary educational options that best fit their strengths, interests, and goals. Our College Counselor prepares each student to undertake this task by helping them to identify their college choices, informing them about college visits and scholarship opportunities, and assisting them in the preparation of applications. The College Counselor implements programming for students and parents throughout the year, including information regarding application procedures and financial aid information, group instruction related to admission procedures, as well as individual assistance with college applications, essays, letters of recommendation, scholarships, and financial aid.

In partnering with the Counseling Department, and with the support of the St. Pius X faculty and Advisory program, self-exploration begins in the classroom in the ninth grade. The College Counselor continues to provide programming relevant to each grade level throughout high school. Our team approach helps us as we guide students and their families through the college search and application process.

St. Pius X offers evening programs specific to parents of sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as programs that are open to the entire SPX community - including College Admissions 101, a financial aid presentation, and a student athlete presentation in collaboration with the SPX Athletics department.
