Mission and Four Pillars

Mission Statement

Prayer, Study, Community, Preaching - this is Dominican education at St. Pius X High School. Inspired by Veritas, young men and women embrace academic excellence and integrity, celebrate the community's diverse gifts and heritage, and embody social justice and service.

A Welcoming Community

At St. Pius X, we honor each student’s unique gifts.

Our campus is a place where faith, learning and life come together – supporting students in the classroom, on stage, on the field and in service to others.

Rooted in Dominican Values

For over 800 years, Dominican education has centered on four pillars: prayer, study, community and preaching. These are the foundation of our spiritual charism and guide everything we do. They help students seek truth, grow in knowledge, build community and share God's love through action.

Veritas Women and Men are those who do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason. Through the Four Pillars of a Dominican education: Prayer, Study, Community, and Preaching, SPX students develop into Veritas Men and Women.

Dominican Education

Prayer. Study. Community. Preaching.

These four pillars shape every aspect of life at St. Pius X High School. Dominican education has embodied these values since the founding of the order in the 13th century .

  • Prayer: We guide students in spiritual growth through daily prayer, campus ministry and retreats.

  • Study: A rigorous academic program – including honors, AP and dual-credit courses – cultivates critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

  • Community: Students from more than 60 parishes and 100 ZIP codes come together in a welcoming atmosphere rooted in respect and shared purpose.

  • Preaching: Our community lives the Dominican calling to preach truth and serve others, with over 8,000 campus-wide service hours annually.
