St. Pius X High School Parent Association

St. Pius X Parent Association is made up of volunteer parents who graciously help with events at the School. All parents are a part of this organization, so please come to the meetings to find out what’s going on at SPX. The meetings are the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the library (see calendar below). We are always looking for volunteers to help us make all of these events “the best they have ever been!" Please don’t wait for us to contact you; call or e-mail the chairperson of the committee that you are interested in, so you can continue to help us make SPX the place to be! It is also a great way to meet other families at St. Pius X. We always have a lot of fun!

HOMEROOM PARENTS We need 2 homeroom parents for each homeroom. We ask that you: o Organize a “call list” in your homeroom with the other homeroom parents. o Be ready to call families at a moment’s notice, if needed. o In September, recruit volunteers for the Annual Fund Phonathon in October. o Make calls to parents for Open House on October 24. o Coordinate “theme baskets” for Casino Night in March. o Be willing to serve on Parent Association committees of choice.

The Parent Association host’s this fun family and community building event for new families entering St. Pius X. We need volunteers to help set up, decorate, cook, serve food, socialize & help clean up. Come join the fun!
SPX Fund Phonathon - September 16-19, 23
o Sunday, September 16, 5-7 p.m. Need 7 senior parent volunteers and 8 junior parent volunteers o Monday, September 17, 6-8:30 p.m. Need 7 sophomore parent volunteers and 8 freshmen parent volunteers o Tuesday, September 18, 6-8 p.m. Need 6 senior and 6 junior parent volunteers o Wednesday, September 19, 6-8 p.m. Need 6 sophomore and freshmen parent volunteers o Sunday, September 23, 5-7 p.m. Need 4 senior, junior, sophomore, freshmen parent volunteers o Location: Theatre Room, next to Auditorium o Provided: script that includes responses to questions that are asked of you, training will be provided the day you volunteer, food and drinks will be provided, prizes will be provided for parents who attain the most number of commitments and the largest amount of commitments Please know parents are more apt to give to their peers, so they appreciate a parent calling them versus a staff member. All families will be contacted about the SPX Fund at St. Pius X. They will have received a letter from Sister Donna about this event. Volunteers of this committee will call and express the importance to a commitment in support of their child’s education at St. Pius X.

If you like to cook, this is the committee for you! Any time food is involved, this committee is sure to do a GREAT job! They also need volunteers to help set up and clean up after each event.
College Night - October 29
Two volunteers provide refreshments and hospitality for this night at Strake Jesuit High School.

Open House is an event for the upcoming 8^th graders and their families who are interested in attending St. Pius X. We need volunteers from 2 until 9 p.m., to help setup, make sandwiches, greet the families, re-stock the food and clean up.

Raffle/Casino Night - Committee Chairperson - Raffle Kick Off - February 1
It kicks-off on February 1, ending with Casino Night on March 8. This committee has several subcommittees; including pep rallies, collections, etc. Casino Night offers an evening of fun and fellowship. Volunteer opportunities are available in every area; including auction items, coordinating class theme baskets, decorations, set up and clean up.

Juniors will receive their class rings, symbolizing entry into their senior year at St. Pius X High School during the Veritas Liturgy. Volunteers are needed for the reception following this event. o No Jjnior parent volunteers because this is for you and your junior! o Need volunteers anytime between 8 a.m. and noon to set up, serve and clean up.
Senior Breakfast  - Committee Chairpersons - May 23
This event is to honor our seniors and their families. o No senior parent volunteers because this is for you and your senior! o Need volunteers around 5 p.m. Thursday, May 22, to start setting up. o Need volunteers anytime between 7:30 a.m. and noon, Friday, May 23, to finish setting up, serve and clean up.

Project Prom is a new tradition at St. Pius X. This committee works throughout the year having fund raisers, as well as planning the many details of this special party. There are several subcommittees because many volunteers are needed to make Prom night an enduring memory for our children! All senior parents are asked to help, but anyone who is interested in helping is welcome!  Come join the fun and meet other families at SPX!

Returning mothers gather in the summer and welcome mothers of new students to St. Pius X. This is a wonderful time to make new friends and catch up with old ones. This open house provides an opportunity to meet committee chairs and to sign up for various volunteer opportunities for the 2008-09 school year. Volunteers are needed to help set up and clean up.
