Hear the heart of SPX spirit
The rhythm of football games and pep rallies springs from the St. Pius X band. Our full marching band plays at each football game to spur on our team, but its influence extends throughout the school. We play at pep rallies and games, we challenge ourselves through competitions, and we perform for the community through concerts.
Learn to Play Music Together and on Your Own
Our students build skills and relationships that only playing music together can deliver. Practice and performance give us the chance to support each other, to succeed and fail as a group, and to develop our own talents.
Your time spent in marching band also fulfills both a PE credit and a Fine Arts credit on your journey to college.
While every band student plays a role in our marching band, we have many musical groups.
- Marching Band
- Concert Band
- Jazz Band
- Color Guard
If You Love Playing Music, the SPX Band Has a Place for You
Jump in and express your love of music. Our band values the music from every member no matter the current skill level. Students perform in our color guard to portray our music on the field, they perform in large and small ensembles, and they challenge themselves in three class levels at regional and state competitions.
- TAPPS Concert
- TAPPS Ensemble
- TAPPS Solo
- TAPPS Sight Reading
For those students looking to take their musical skills to the college level, we can help you when applying to music schools.
