Middle School Academic Rally

Learn how middle school students can compete at SPX

Over two days in February, the St. Pius X High School Middle School Academic Rally (MSAR), sponsored by the Del Sarto Chapter of the National Honor Society, showcases the talents of students in competitions. This year's main rally events take place on Saturday, February 4, 2017, with two pre-rally competitions on Friday, February 3, 2017.

The rally involves more than 700 entrants and is produced by the SPX National Honor Society students working under the president/student director each year.

Open to sixth, seventh and eighth graders throughout the greater Houston area, MSAR participants may compete in oral competition in:

  • foreign language
  • on-site drawing
  • pre-submitted creative writing and art
  • academic tests in various disciplines

The annual rally culminates with the Significa! Tournament in which teams compete for their middle schools. Students and their schools earn medals and awards, gain competitive experience and meet talented scholars from many other schools.
