St. Pius X High School Uniform Policy

 

High Standards in dress and personal grooming are important in creating a favorable image of the student body. These standards are based on NEATNESS, CLEANLINESS, AND MODESTY. Students at St. Pius X High School wear a uniform. Wearing the school uniform does achieve this purpose.

               

HAIR: Hair is to be a natural color, with NO Sculpturing.

                         

MEN: Men’s hair is to be worn no longer than AT THE COLLAR and must present a neat appearance.  No PONYTAILS ARE PERMITTED; NO BEARDS ARE PERMITTED.  Mustaches are to be neatly trimmed.

 

VISIBLE BODY PIERCING and TATTOS: Visible body piercing other than pierced ears, including tongue piercing is not allowed.  Visible tattoos are not allowed.

 

EARRINGS: Male students may NOT wear earrings or plastic studs.

 

REQUIRED DRESS UNIFORM:

 

Women:           Glen plaid skirt (purchased from Sue Mills), worn at the knee

                    White oxford blouse (short or long-sleeved)

Black cotton crew or cardigan sweater or sweater vest with school insignia (purchased from Sue Mills)

Black, brown, gray or skin toned, solid colored socks and/or hose

 

Men:            Gray slacks, black tie (purchased from Sue Mills)

                    White oxford shirt (short or long-sleeved)

Black cotton crew or cardigan sweater or sweater vest with school insignia (purchased from Sue Mills)

Black, brown, navy, gray, cordovan, or tan dress shoes and belt

White, black or gray solid colored socks

 

UNIFORM OPTIONS

 

Women:       Glen plaid, khaki shorts (purchased from Sue Mills), worn at the knee.        Shorts are NOT to be rolled at the cuffs.

                    *White short or long-sleeved oxford, white short sleeved polo with school insignia, black or gray short sleeved polo with school insignia purchased from Sue Mills or SPX.

                    Black pleated skirt (purchased from Sue Mills), worn at the knee

                    *Glen plaid or khaki slacks (purchased from Sue Mills). Do not cut the seams.

Gray fleece SPX jacket (purchased from Sue Mills) or SPX uniform sweatshirt.

 

Men:            * Black, gray or khaki walking shorts (purchased from Sue Mills), worn at the knee

          * (SAME AS ABOVE- SEE SHIRTS ABOVE)

* Black, gray, or khaki slacks (purchased from Sue Mills). Do not cut the seams.

* Gray fleece SPX jacket 9purchased from Sue Mills) or SPX uniform sweatshirt

 

          NO SANDALS may be worn AT ANY TIME with the school uniform; shoes must have closed toes and heels. On days where the dress uniform is not required, non-dress shoes may be worn including low top tennis shoes, etc. Shoes that have laces must be tied.  Belts MUST BE VISIBLE AND WORN INSIDE LOOPS with shorts and slacks.  Belts are to be the same color as the dress shoes. (No sparkle belts allowed.) shirts must be tucked in before entering the building and cannot be rolled. Shorts, slacks and skirts must be worn at the waist. Shorts and slacks may not be rolled. Pants are to fit properly and be worn at the waist. T-shirts for men and women may be gray, black or white.

 

          During regular school hours only the black uniform sweater, the gray uniform jacket and/or the SPX Letter Jacket may be worn over the uniform inside the school building. Do not wear SPX warm up jackets, SPX team jackets, or SPX sweatshirts.

 

Socks and/or hose MUST BE WORN and are to be white, black, beige, or gray solid colored. They must be easily visible.

 

Only solid white t-shirts may be worn under uniform shirts and/or blouses.

 

Uniforms will be checked upon arrival and monitored until the end of the school day.

 

No CAPS are to be worn in the school building AT ANY TIME.
