Mrs. Thompson has been active in Catholic education for the past
32 years across six states! A graduate of Our Lady of Victory Academy (Dobbs Ferry, NY) and Ladycliff College (Highland Falls, NY), Mrs.
Thompson holds a BA in French and English Literature and an MA in Theological Studies from the University of St. Thomas School of
Theology at St. Mary Seminary in Houston. She is pursuing post-graduate studies in Educational Administration and is a member of the national
Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). Active in education and pastoral ministries in the Diocese of
Galveston-Houston since 1990, she represented her parish in 1995 as a recipient of the NCEA's national "Mustard Seed" award. In January, 2004
Mrs. Thompson was honored to participate in the NCEA's Centennial Symposium in Washington, D.C. One of 250 Catholic educators invited from across the country, she helped
craft a document addressing the impact of 'leadership, identity, engagement'
on future Catholic education in America. Mrs. Thompson, Sister Donna Pollard
and Sister Jane Meyer proudly represented the Dominican high schools from the Diocese of Galveston-Houston. During the Symposium, NCEA delegates were
invited to the East Room of the White House where they were greeted by
President George W. Bush. Mrs. Thompson is frequently invited to make presentations at diocesan
and parish workshops for catechists. She has been a facilitator for several diocesan FTCM sessions and has been a guest speaker addressing a wide-range
of topics that deal with parenting issues, early childhood education, parish-wide faith formation, adult education, sacramental preparation, Marian
devotion and angels. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson have been married for over 31 years and have
six children - all either presently attending or having graduated from Catholic schools. They are the proud grandparents of Laura, Julia and
Emma! Mrs. Thompson enjoys reading, attending craft fairs and browsing through antique stores. She is always looking for additions to her
cornhusk doll and nativity set collections.
