Debby O’Donnell has been teaching at St. Pius
X for the past 9 years, and was also part of the faculty during the school’s
earlier years, 1973-1974. During the “in between” years, she taught Math and
Science at The High School for Performing and Visual Arts, Bishop Lynch High
School in Dallas, Klein High School, and Klein Forest High School, and
served for 8 years as Youth Minister/ High School D.R.E. at Christ the Good
Shepherd Catholic Community in Spring.
Ms. O’Donnell teaches Chemistry and Chemistry Honors,
and is Associate Director in The Office for Campus Ministry at SPX, with
primary responsibility as Coordinator for the Social Justice Service
Learning Course. She enjoys assisting with the Preaching Team, class
retreats, school liturgies and prayer services, and various outreach
activities, particularly when involving students to take on key leadership
roles in ministry. As part of the science department, she promotes
involvement in the Science Club for students who are truly interested in the
world of science and who wish to share their enthusiasm with others at SPX.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from
Sam Houston State University, and is certified as a Composite Science/Math
teacher, Youth Minister, Parish Social Minister, and Director of Religious
Education. Outside of the classroom, she serves as lector and EMHC in her
parish, and enjoys reading, gardening, sewing, traveling, and spending time
